This video discussion is about our common defences or excuses. These defences are often protective and are triggered by something we are trying to avoid (ie pain).
We utilize the concept of parts, self-states, or fragments as a way to understand our defence systems and how they are serving to provide information.
By building this understanding, or relationship with our parts we are better able to stay regulated and simply informed by our parts, not controlled by them.
In offering this grace to self, we are more likely to offer it to someone else who is responding or behaving from a "fragment" of their self.
